A. Lowrance

Dr. Lowrance, 82, of Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, NC, he served as a radio pastor, Hospice Chaplain & served in other churches as requested. He loved wood working and especially enjoyed making Bible stands. He also enjoyed camping. Dr. Lowrance was preceded in death by his parents William Frank Lowrance & Frances Short Lowrance, brothers Burgin Lowrance & Fred Lowrance, sisters Jocie Philbeck, Darcas Philbeck, Carrie Bowen & Minnie Cook, deceased grandchildren Jonathan Matthew Hope & Stephanie Lowery, a great grandson Jason Peace Hope and a son-in-law Dick Brooks. Dr. Lowrance is survived by his wife of 42 years Sarah Owens Lowrance of Shelby, daughters Dianne Whisnant & husband John of Shelby, and Teresa Brooks of Woodruff, SC, a son Roger Lowrance and wife Suzy of Shelby, two stepdaughters; Diane Nichols and husband Fred of Gastonia, NC, and Sheila Wall and husband David of Shelby, four step-sons; Reid Hope & wife Debra of Boiling Springs, Mike Hope and wife Kathy of Gastonia, NC, Jimmy Hope and wife Brenda of Waco, NC, Joey Hope and wife Annette of Boiling Springs, NC, two brothers Charles Lowrance and wife Brenda of Kings Mountain, and Lawrence Lowrance and wife Estelle of Lawndale, NC. In addition to these Dr. Lowrance is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Bo Wagner pastor of Conorstone Baptist Church.
