Anne Catherine Owens Fisher, age 80, of Shelby, NC went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2018 at Wendover Hospice.
Born April 18, 1937 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Silas Memory Owens and Ola Dee Scoggins Owens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Madge Reynolds, Ruth Roberts, Jean Lindsay; and two brothers, Garland Owens and Ralph Owens.
Ann loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed reading and doing volunteer work at the Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she was in the Gracie Bishop Sunday School Class. She retired from Cleveland County Schools after working at Boiling Springs Elementary School.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, James Louis Fisher; two daughters, Gail Hamrick and husband Cliff of Boiling Springs, Sharon Fisher of Shelby; brother, Glenn Owens and wife Margaret of Burlington. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Clifford Elijah Hamrick IV and wife Heather of High Point, Wyatt James Hamrick and girlfriend Ashley Allard of Boiling Springs; and three great-grandchildren, Dalton, Hadleigh, and Chloe Hamrick.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Andy Oliver and Reverend Katherine Asis officiating. The visitation will follow the service.
