Barbara Harrill Hawkins

Barbara Jean Harrill Hawkins, age 90 of Lattimore, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2021.

She is survived by her children, Katherine Lucas of Lattimore, NC, Susan Hawkins-Sullens of Lattimore, NC, and Betsy Owens (David) of Charleston, SC, grandchildren, Lainey Harrison of Raleigh, NC, Randolph “Harry” Harrison IV of Outer Banks, NC, Caitlin Lucas of Henderson, NV, and Laura Sullens of Greensboro, NC, and a brother, Richard Harrill of Gaffney, SC.

Born May 15, 1931 in Cleveland County, NC, Barbara was the daughter of the late Rev. Hugh Franklin Harrill and Aileen Padgett Harrill and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Robert Hawkins.

Barbara was a 1949 graduate of Lattimore High School and 1953 of Wake Forest College where she received a bachelor's degree in English.  She taught biology at Crest High School for 30 years before retiring in 1997.  Barbara was a faithful member of Lattimore Baptist Church where she had taught the senior women’s Sunday school class for 20 years.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Peak Resources for the loving care they gave Barbara during her stay.
