Benjamin Allen

Mr. Allen, 90, of 111-1 Panda Court, Grover, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was son of the late Benjamin Franklin Allen Sr. & Corrie Bell Allen. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by his wife Sue Allen Yates, a son Kenneth J. Allen, 2 granddaughters, one grandson, one great grandson, and brothers Hoyle, Darvin & Elbert Allen and a sister Grathel Lail. He retired from Minette Mills after 40 years of service as a loom technician and was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church and the Bethany Coffee Club. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, 20th division, 1370 Military Police Company in Guam. Mr. Allen is survived by a son Gerald Eugene Allen & wife Carolyn, a daughter Patsy Allen Wease all of Grover, NC, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, & 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by the Dr. Bulo E. Price pastor of Dover Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. Memorials may be made to Cleveland Funeral Services, 2518 West Dixon Blvd., Shelby, NC 28152.
