Betty Morgan

Betty Faye Morgan, age 85 of Lattimore, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

Born in Eagle Springs, NC on June 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Bertie Alma Sanders Morgan and David Newton Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Zeb Morgan, her 7 sisters, Gladys Sanders, Dora Sheffield, Ella Jane Sanders, Dossie Mae Williams, Ruby Morgan, Mamie Morgan and Gracie Morgan and her son-in-law, Rev. Henry Nichols, Jr.

Betty is survived by her husband of 68 years, Franklin Daniel Morgan, her son Richard Daniel Morgan (Theresa), daughters Patricia Morgan Nichols and Betty Lynn Morgan Keener (Paul), all of Lattimore, NC; Seven grandchildren, Rick Morgan (Kirsten), Lori Gambill (Garret), Daniel Nichols (Danyel), Sherri Nichols, Henry Nichols III (Ashley), Jacob Keener and Sarah Keener; fourteen great grandchildren, four great-great granddaughters and many very loved nieces and nephews.

After they married on February 28, 1953, the Morgan's lived in Newport News, VA where they started their family and were faithful members of Central Baptist Church of Hampton, VA.  They lived there 45 years and after retirement they moved to Lattimore, NC.  Betty was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church in Lattimore.  She loved quilting, camping, reading and working puzzles.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Cleveland Funeral Services from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.  Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Victory Baptist Church in Lattimore at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby, NC.

The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff at Wendover Hospice for the loving care they gave Betty during her stay.
