Betty Plank

Betty Roelle Plank, age 93 of Wilmington, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

She is survived by her children, Rosa Faber of Worms, Germany, Karina Morris of Waynesboro, VA, Wanda Dean of Shelby, NC, Barbara Ann Buchanan of Carolina Beach, NC, Franklin Plank of Greensboro, NC, and Monika Barnes of Lagrange, OH, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Born December 25, 1928 in Worms, Germany, Betty was the daughter of the late Johann Jakob Roelle and Barbara Lohmann Roelle and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Franklin Lee Plank.

Betty was a certified short order cook in Germany.  She loved sewing and crocheting.  Betty loved the Lord and helping in the church cafeteria and nursery.  She would help others in need, always giving what she could and would go without for herself to help someone else.  Betty will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am Monday, March 7, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church conducted by Rev. J. Barry Goodman.  Burial will follow at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
