Billy Sane

Mr. Billy Smith Sane, age 84 of Rutherford County, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Willow Ridge in Rutherfordton, NC. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Cleveland Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Wayne Tony. A visitation will be held 12:00 - 1:30 pm Wednesday at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel.
He is survived by a son, Randy Sane and wife Annette of Shelby, NC, two daughters, Sherry Martell of Springfield, TN, and Tamara Hite and husband Joe of Tega Cay, SC, two grandchildren, Miranda Sane of Shelby, NC and Austin Hite of Tega Cay, SC, four sisters, Blanche Ruff of Forest City, NC, Margaret Hollifield of Bostic, NC, Jo Padgett of Asheville, NC, and Jack Davis of Welcome, NC, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born June 18, 1930 in Rutherford County, Mr. Sane is the son of the late Fonzie B. and Minnie (Smith) Sane and was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline (Burns) Sane, three brothers, Mac Sane, John Sane, and Luke Sane, two sisters, Beth Hanson, Pearl Wall. Mr. Sane graduated from Harris High School in 1948. After graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corps working in the Adjutant Generals office (JAG Office). He enjoyed fishing, baseball, watching the Atlanta Braves, and Nascar racing.
