Blanche "Liz" Carter

Blanche Elizabeth “Liz” Waters Carter, age 93 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and savior on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

She is survived by a son, Keith Carter of Shelby, NC, four grandchildren, Shawn Carter and wife Kim, Amanda Carter, Dawn Carter, and Katlin Carter, all from Shelby, NC, seven great grandchildren, Paige Carter, Jacob Carter, Haylee Mabe and husband Raymond, MacKenzie Alderson, Carol Howell, Kolton Meeks, and Braylee Meeks, all of Shelby, NC, two great great grandchildren, Diamond McCleave and Keyshun McCleave Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born May 27, 1928 in Cleveland Tennessee, Liz was the daughter of the late Daniel Sylvester Waters and Ruth Taylor Waters and was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Boyd Carter, a son, Reginald “Reggie” Boyd Carter, five sisters, and 1 brother.

Liz was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.   She was a faithful member of Zoar Baptist Church where she played the piano.  Liz enjoyed shopping, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 12:00pm – 1:30pm Friday, April 1, 2022 at Cleveland Funeral Services.  A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Friday at Zoar Baptist Church conducted Rev. Chris Patterson.
