Brenda Bridges Mull, 81, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on the evening of December 8, 2023 at Fair Haven Home in Bostic, NC. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her parents, Gordon and Emma Lee Bridges; a sister, Judy Bridges McKinnon; and special friends, Elnora and Steve Eskridge.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 63 years, Randy Mull of Fair Haven Home in Bostic; her daughter and son in law, Sandy and Tim Quattlebaum of Boiling Springs; a grandson, Dusty Quattlebaum and his wife, Chelsea of Shelby; a granddaughter, Christen Bernal and her husband, David of Shelby; five great-grandchildren, Rowen Quattlebaum, Maylea Jae Quattlebaum, Zepha Bernal, Ezra Bernal and Zion Bernal, all of Shelby; a sister and brother in law, Vickie and Oren Wyatt of Shelby; two nephews, Robbie Wyatt (Cindy) of Shelby and Richie Wyatt (Jennifer) of Gastonia; and a niece, Karen Costner (Wesley) of Boiling Springs; great nephews and nieces, Logan Costner, Landon Costner (Katelyn) of Kings Mountain, Meredith Wyatt and Madelyn Wyatt of Gastonia; great-great niece and nephew, Madelyn and Noah Costner; sister in law and brother in law, Lois and Steve Truelove of Grover; special friends, Carolyn and Hugh Bess of Shelby; and a host of other friends and family.
There were many special hobbies that Brenda enjoyed, including cooking for her family and friends, traveling and dining with “The Gang”, reading, and hand-crafting quilts, wall hangings, and Christmas tree skirts and stockings. She and Randy followed their grandchildren and great grandchildren as they participated in sports and the arts. Brenda was a Sunday School teacher, Baptist Women’s Leader and ministered to those who needed special assistance by providing visits, food and transportation. Brenda was the treasurer and secretary of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for 34 years, and she was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express appreciation to all who visited, prayed, and cared for Brenda in these months of decline. Special thanks to the administration and staff of Fair Haven Home in Bostic, Cleveland County Via Health Partners (Hospice), and caregivers Jane Hamrick, Suzette Bangs, Abby McMahan and Mary Mortimer.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13 from 12 noon until 1:30 pm at Cleveland Funeral Services, with the funeral following in the chapel at 1:30. The service will be officiated by Dr. Jim Richardson, Rev. Clyde Buckner and Rev. Danny Buckner.
Burial will follow the service in the cemetery of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
To honor Mrs. Mull, Wesley Costner, Landon Costner, Robbie Wyatt, Richie Wyatt, Dusty Quattlebaum, and David Bernal will serve as Pallbearers.
