Bruce Mitchem

A native of Cleveland County, he was formerly employed by Larry Sullens Trucking & Turner Trucking. Bruce enjoyed driving a truck, seeing the country, times spent at the beach with his family & friends and motorcycles. Having served in the U. S. Navy with two tours of duty ini Vietnam, he wasa very patriotic person who loved his country. He was preceded in death by his parents, Yates T. Mitchem & Jessie J. thackerson Mitchem and a daughter, Elizabeth Mitchem. He is survived by a daughter & her husband, Becky & Anthony Mitchem of Great Lakes, IL; sister & her husband, Sherry & Rick Squibb of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; stepmother, Brenda Mitchem of Shelby; nephew & his wife, Chris & Wendy Byars of Linville, NC; great nephew, Luther Byars of Linville; cousins, Mr. & Mrs. Dean Mitchem, Mr. & Mrs. Mike Jolley, Mr. & Mrs. Bob Hall. Visitation will be held at Cleveland Funeral Services, Sunday 1:00 - 2:00 with funeral in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Memorials may be made to any veteran's organization.
