Mr. Carl Arthur Ogren Jr., age 89 of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jean Schneider Ogren of the home, his children, Sharon Parker (Dale) of Hickory, NC, Michael Ogren of Boone, NC, Artie Ogren (Glenda) of Mooresboro, NC, Steven Ogren of Shelby, NC, and Chris Ogren (Kristi) of Morganton, NC, his stepchildren, Robin Schoenfeldt (Keith) of Forest City, NC, Kimberly Griner of Rutherfordton, NC, and Scott Schneider (Karyn) of Deerfield Beach, FL, nine grandchildren, Tyler Parker, Jonah Ogren, Ashley Vanderhoof (Trent), Katelyn Teague (Lucas), Carlie Walker (Zachary), Paigelynn Ogren, Riley Ogren, James Ogren, and Dylan Ogren, eight step grandchildren, Ashley Patrick (Benjamin), Kaitlyn Byars, Megan Schoenfeldt, Dustin Griner (Kari), Taylor Griner, Justin Schneider (Katy), Andrew Schneider, and Austin Schneider, three great grandchildren, Addyson Vanderhoof, Mackenzie Vanderhoof, and Lynndy Ogren, eight step great grandchildren, Pierce Ruggianno, Micah Patrick, Leo Byars, Opal Byars, Ember Schoenfeldt, Asher Schoenfeldt, Millie Griner, and Grace Griner, and a sister, Marie White of Hickory, NC.
Born October 12, 1934, in Hickory, NC, Carl was the son of the late Carl Arthur Ogren Sr., and Madeline Franceschine Ogren and was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Bridges Ogren, and two sisters, Eva Bostic and Ruth Yeager.
Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, Paw Paw, Papa Carl, brother, and friend. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, watching Nascar and sports, working in the yard, and spending time with his family and friends. Carl also enjoyed volunteer work at the Senior Center in Shelby, and North Carolina Nazarene Campground in Hendersonville. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Tony Rayfield. A Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
