Carrie Lee

Mrs. Lee, 89, of Shelby, NC passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 a Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she worked at Dover Mill as a weaver and later in hotel management as an office manager. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church, the Dorcas Sunday School class, and the Bible Study Class. Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her parents John Adram Blanton & Analda Wilson Blanton, her husband John Howard Lee, brothers Raymond K. Jones,& J. V. Blanton, sisters Ann Blanton Hardy, Nell Weaver, Beatrice Washburn, & Martha Bagwell, and three brother-in-laws Houston Bagwell, Reburn Washburn & Ishmael Weaver. Mrs. Lee is survived by a daughter and her husband Joyce Lee Peeler & Otis of Lawndale, a son Steven Howard Lee of High Shoals, NC, and grandchildren Timothy Atkinson & Judy of Lawndale, NC, Mark Atkinson of Lawndale, NC, Robin Lee Starnes & Jason of Gastonia, NC, and David Peeler & Dawn of Lawndale, NC, five great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to these Mrs. Lee is also survived by a brother and his wife John Blanton & Frances of Shelby, a sister and her husband Sara Anthony & Larry of Shelby, a brother-in-law John Hardy of Greensboro, NC, and a sister-in-law Rosa Lee Blanton of Spartanburg, NC. Funeral services will be conducted by the Revs. Bill Fryar & Brad Stamey.
