Catherine Fortenberry

Mrs. Catherine Evans Earls Fortenberry, age 63 of Shelby, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Wendover Hospice. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel conducted by Rev. David Slatton and Rev. Robert Lane. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held 11:00 am Monday, January 5, 2015 at Cleveland Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Marvin Fortenberry of the home, two sons, Keith Earls and wife Ivey of Shelby, NC, and David Fortenberry of Shelby, NC, three grandchildren, Caitlyn Fortenberry, Liberty Fortenberry, and Elizabeth Earls, three step grandchildren, Brooke Willis, Brittany Willis and Emily Willis, two brothers, Stephen Earls and wife Sheila of Shelby, NC, and Stanley Earls and wife Linda of Gaffney, SC.
Born December 28, 1951, Mrs. Fortenberry was the daughter of the late Elmer and Verdie (Putnam) Earls. Catherine was a devoted member of the Lavonia Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Catherine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother "Maw Maw" and will be missed by all those that knew her.
