Charles Bankhead

April 3, 1927 — June 14, 2007

Mr. Bankhead, 80, was a retired farmer, a carpenter for 40 years, and worked for Daniel Construction Co., and was the co-founder of Beaver Dam Auto Auction. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church of Shelby, a charter member of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club, and a avid Clogger. He served in the U.S.Navy during WW II.
Mr. Bankhead was preceeded in death by his parents; Carl Ray Bankhead Sr. & Alma Washburn Bankhead, his wife Barbara Doster Bankhead, a grandson Brett Bankhead, brothers C.R.Bankhead Sr, & Billy Bankhead, and a sister Katherine Annas.
Mr. Bankhead is survived by a son & daugh.-in-law Mike & Betsy Bankhead, a daughter and fiancee Kathy Kee & Lee Harris, a brother & sister-in-law John & Betty Jean Bankhead all of Shelby, two sisters Mary McBrayer of Avon, Conn. & Sarah Hunter of Denver, NC.
Grandchildren: Clay, Lou, & Jess Bankhead, Mandy & Donnie Dunaway & David Kee, great grandchildren: Kaleb Norman & Reese Dunaway. Mr. Bankhead also leaves behind many friends & co-workers at Beaver Dam Auto Auction.
