Charles Robert "Bob" McKee, 88, of Shelby, passed away on April 28, 2013, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Mr. McKee was born in Cleveland County on March 7, 1925.
He was a charter member of Landmark Baptist Church, former Sunday school teacher in the senior adult department, and also a charter member of the Shelby Rescue Squad. He was also a self-employed postal contractor, and delivered Meals on Wheels for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Andrew McKee and Essie Petty McKee; wife, Shirley Martin McKee; brother, Claude McKee; and sisters, Daisy Petty and Kate Whisnant.
He is survived by his sons, Richard McKee and Denise, and Jimmy McKee and Denise, all of Mooresboro; grandchildren, Eddie Hoke and wife Dani, Chris McKee, Zac McKee, Carly McKee, and Brian McGill; great-grandchildren, Landri Hoke, Delaney McKee, Charlie McKee and Cameron McKee; nephew, Lawrence McKee of Shelby; nieces, Merle Meeker and Frank of Shelby, and Lavonda Lyles and Bobby of Atlanta, Ga.; and special friend, Peggy Goins of Shelby.
