Charles Cooper

March 6, 1919 — December 19, 2008

Mr, Cooper, 89, of 118 McBrayer Homestead Rd., Shelby, NC, a native of Cleveland County, passed away Friday, December 19, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Mr. Coopers parents were the late Daniel Amos & Hattie Walker Cooper. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by a daughter Donnie Vee Cooper, and brothers Woodrew, Yates, Toy, Roy, Calvin, Arthur & Ralph Cooper, and two sisters Rachel Mintz & Ruth Mintz.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife of 66 years Edna Lovelace Cooper of the home, a son and his wife Charles Nelson Cooper & Barbara of Cary, NC, a brother Harrill Cooper and wife Diane of Shelby, two grandchildren Jason Scott Cooper of Cary, NC, and Justin Kyle Cooper of Bozeman, MT.
Mr. Cooper was an entrepreneur at home and work. Trade and barter were a lifelong trait. He designed his own home and built most of it with his won hands. One of the bricks bear his and his wife's names. He established C. E. Cooper Sales and Service, retiring in 1982. After retiring from Cleveland Lumber Company in 2007, he enjoyed travel and woodworking. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Mav Burgin pastor of Lattimore Baptist Church.
