Charles Jones

April 7, 1931 — October 28, 2012

Mr. Charles W. Jones, 81, of Shelby, passed away at Kings Mountain Hospice

House on Sunday, October 28, 2012.  A native of Cleveland County, he was

the son of the late Paris and Lillie Carroll Jones.



A native of Cleveland County, he had retired from  P.P.G. where he was a

supervisor.  He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where he

was an active deacon;  a life member of Friendship Lodge #388 where he

was a Past Master and Tyler for twenty-six years.  He was the first recipient

of the  Grand Lodge of North Carolina Tyler of Distinction award.  A member

of  the Piedmont Shrine Club of Shelby, he had served as a past hospital

coordinator for children for the Piedmont Shrine Club.

He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.



He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Sally Dixon Jones of the home;

two sons, Lanney Jones & wife, Sylvia of Richmond, VA., Wesley Jones &

wife, Debra of Shelby; one brother, Gerald Jones & wife, Lib of Shelby;

one sister, Dorothy Helton of Ellenboro;  two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Greene of

Mooresboro, and Betty Putnam of Shelby; grandchildren, Christina Hamrick &

husband, Chad, Stephanie Bristol, Hollie Mueller & husband, George, Jayme

Jones; great grandchildren, Noah Cline, Sophie Bristol and Styler Bristol;

and several nieces and nephews.



Visitation:  The family will receive friends at

Cleveland Funeral Services &  Crematory,

Tuesday, October 30th, 5:00 - 8:00 PM

and other times at the home.



Funeral:     The funeral will be at

Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church,

Wednesday,  2:00 PM with Dr. Eric Davis & Rev. Andy Oliver officiating.



Burial:        Cleveland Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
