Charles Mckee

February 25, 1932 — January 14, 2019

Mr. Charles Douglas McKee, age 86 of Shelby, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 14, 2019.
He is survived by his son Chris McKee (Becky) of Garner, NC, a grandson, James Douglas McKee of Garner, NC, a brother, Ralph McKee (Aree) of Gaffney, SC, two sisters, Sandra Patterson of Shelby, NC, and Amy Jones (Clarence) of Shelby, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born on February 25, 1932 in Cleveland County, Mr. McKee was the son of the late Arthur and Sallie Runyans McKee and was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Billie Norrod McKee, a brother, William "Bill" McKee, a sister, Betty Huntsinger and her husband Bill, and a brother-in-law, John Patterson.
Mr. McKee retired from the United States Air Force where he was a Bronze Star recipient. He also retired from Porter Brothers. Charles loved the Lord and was a partner and greeter at Hope Community Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 744 and the Shriners in Shelby. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by those that knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 18, 2019 at Hope Community Church conducted by Pastor Skip Allen. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery with full military honors.
