Charles Whisnant

Mr. Whisnant, 82, of 1015 West Cabaniss Road, Shelby, passed away Friday, 8-29-2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son to the late Herschel Whisnant Sr. & Jonnie Cabaniss Whisnant. He retired from Whisnant Brothers Inc. and was a farmer and truck driver and a life-long member of Double Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents Mr. Whisnsnt was preceeded in death by his wife, Joyce Grigg Whisnant, and sisters Mary Frances Weathers & Catherine Hawkins.
Mr. Whisnsnt is survived by two sons and their wives; Scott Whisnsnt & wife Wanda of Garner, NC, & John Whisnant and wife Susan of Shelby, a daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth Rogers & John of Shelby. In addition to these he has a brother and sister-in-law Herschel Whisnant Jr. & wife Judy of Shelby, brother-in-law's Lawrence Hawkins of Hickory, and Ford Grigg & wife Vi of Charleston, SC, and a sister-in-law Harriette Grigg of Shelby. His grandchildren are Adam Whisnant, Amanda Whisnant, Will Whisnant, Noah Whisnant, & Andrew Rogers. Mr. Whisnant is also survived by a number of loving nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Todd Bolin.
