Mrs. McSwain, 74, of 3529 Artee Road, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 22, 2008, at Hospice House of Rutherford County. She was born in Marion, NC on December 31, 1933 to the late Julius and Rucelle Sisk. She was a high school graduate and worked for many years at Doran Textiles as a unifill tender and also at Fiber Industries in the lab. Clara loved her family dearly and loved spending time in her garded. Besides her parents, she was preceeded in death by a brother Tom Sisk and a brother-in-law Howard McSwain.
Clara is survived by her husband, Farris McSwain, who she dearlly loved for 54 years; a daughter, Teresa Webber and husband Roland of Shelby, one granddaughter Devan Porter of Ellenboro, NC, one stepgrandson Chad Webber and wife Tracy of Shelby; two step great grandchildren Chasidy Webber and Jonathan Webber all of Shelby, two sisters Doris McCoy and husband Prichard of Shelby, Geraldine Morrison & husband Hicks of Mooresboro; sister-in-laws Melba Sisk of Forest City, NC, and Marcelle Hamrick and husband Richard, Janice Cabiness and husband George of Shelby; Shirley Funderburke and husband Woody of Hickory, Lena McSwain of Shelby and brother-in-law Hazel McSwain and wife of Ruth of Shelby. She is also survived by 13 nephews and 8 nieces. The family would like to sincerely thank Hospice of Rutherford County for the great care during her illness, and a special thanks to Brenda Jones, R.N. for her great kindness.
