Clyde Edward Humphries Sr., age 85 of Shelby, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 4, 2022.
He is survived by his children, Ronnie Humphries and wife Mindy of Shelby, NC, and Clyde “Eddie” Humphries Jr. of Clover, SC, five grandchildren, Christopher Humphries of Clover, SC, Andrew Humphries of Charlotte, NC, Amanda Humphries of Clover, SC, Mallory Dominguez and husband Josh of Charlotte, NC, and Natalie Humphries of Shelby, NC, a great granddaughter, Gianna Dominguez, a brother, Tommy Humphries and wife Vicki of Rutherford College, NC, and a sister-in-law, Debbie Dover of Shelby, NC.
Born December 21, 1936 in Cleveland County, NC, Clyde was the son of the late James Lyman Humphries and Delta Ware Humphries and was preceded in death by his wives, Evelyn Downs Humphries and Ann Blanton Humphries, a brother, Preston Humphries, and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Humphries.
Clyde graduated from Shelby High School in 1955. He was also a graduate of Gardner Webb College. He was employed with Thomas & Howard as Vice President of Sales for over 40 years. Clyde loved to play golf and especially enjoyed his golfing trips with his friends from Zoar Baptist Church, where he was a lifelong member. There was nothing more important to Clyde than spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Zoar Baptist Church, 1740 S. Lafayette Street in Shelby. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
