David Hamrick

Mr. David Green Hamrick, age 92 of Ronda, NC, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at his residence.
He is survived his two children, Phyllis Hill and husband Mike of Ronda, NC, and Kathy McCoy of Shelby, NC, three grandchildren, Stephanie Hill of NY City, NY, Shane Hill of Ronda, NC, and Heather Murray and husband Jasper of Earl, NC, two sister Rose Greene of Mooresboro, NC, and Mary Elizabeth "Tootsie" Cromer of Mooresboro, NC.
Born September 7, 1923 in Cleveland County, Mr. Hamrick was the son of the late Frank and Anne (Humphries) Hamrick and was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Aileen Daves Hamrick, a son, Scott Hamrick, five brothers, Eldon Hamrick, Buran Hamrick, Frank Hamrick, Bob Hamrick, and baby boy John Henry Hamrick, and two sisters, Daisy Spangler and Sarah Hamrick.
Mr. Hamrick was known as "Catfish" to many. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresboro conducted by Rev. Mike Frazier and Rev. Kevin Hamrick. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scott Hamrick Scholarship Fund, 800 Old Boiling Springs Road, Shelby NC 28152.
