Don Bridges

Mr. Bridges, 66, of 230 South Fork Drive, Shelby, NC passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. Mr. Bridges was a loving husband, daddy, & papa. A native of Cleveland County, he had worked a Porter Brothers, Inc. where he was an officer worker in the credit department. A member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church, he had served as a former Deacon. Mr. Bridges was also a former member, deacon and assistant superintendent of Sunday School at Second Baptist Church. He was also a lunch buddy and volunteer at James Love School. Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Everertte Lee Bridges & Nicie Ella Wilson Bridges, four brothers Jack, Gene, Johnny & Jim Bridges, and three sisters Helen Bivins, Ethel Morrison & Juanita Anderson. Mr. Bridges is survived by his wife Diane Willard Bridges of the home, two sons David Bridges of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mark Bridges of Shelby, a daughter and her husband Amy Black & Rev. Jimmy of Shelby, two grandsons Michael Bridges of Oklahoma City, OK, and Hunter Black of Shelby, a granddaughter Alison Bridges of Florida, and a brother Jerry Bridges and wife Shirley of Shelby. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. David Costner pastor of Westwood Heights Baptist Church and Rev. Jimm Black pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
