Doris Cash Bridges

Mrs. Doris McDaniel Cash Bridges, age 85 of Shelby, NC passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory conducted by Rev. April Abernethy. A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
She is survived by a son, Dana H. Cash and wife Cathy of Greer, SC, two grandchildren, Shaye Cash of Greer, SC and Jessica Cash of Greer, SC, two stepchildren, Norris Bridges and wife Charlene of North Augusta, SC, and Joann Johnson and husband Elmus of Meridian, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
Born November 13, 1929 in Shelby, NC, Mrs. Bridges was the daughter of the late Phyfer Clemmet and Mary Chester (Edwards) McDaniel and was preceded in death by her two husbands, Fred Cash and T.F. Bridges, a stepson, Dale Bridges, two sisters, Betty Bridges and Faye Dixon. Mrs. Bridges was a faithful member of the Sharon United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and participated in the Tape Ministries, the Friendship Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. Doris graduated from Shelby High School in 1947. After graduation, Mrs. Bridges went to work for Dover Textiles at the Ester Mills Facility working as a Unifill Tender, retiring after 40 years of service. Doris enjoyed cooking, baking, and taking care of others. Mrs. Bridges was a loving and caring wife and mother who always put others first.
Pallbearers will be: Jason Floyd, Gary Floyd, Bobby Pyron, Tony Patterson, and Adam Patterson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church, 871 College Ave, Shelby, NC 28152 or to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28152.
