Mrs. Dorothy Wilson Lee, age 94 of Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in DeSota, TX. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Tim Martin. A visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter: Debra and her husband, Bill Waibel of DeSoto, her grandchildren: Beth and her husband, Will Florence of Arlington, TX, Morgan Waibel of DeSoto, Erica and her husband, Joe Steelman of Havre de Grace, Maryland, Victoria Ann Waibel of Silverdale, Washington, great grandchildren: Layla, Madisyn and Wesley Florence, Brooke Blackney and Josh Steelman.
Born April 6, 1920 in Gaston County, Mrs. Lee was the daughter of the late Robert and Fannie Bollinger Wilson and was preceded in death by her husband, Murrel D. Lee. After graduating high school, Dorothy worked at Belk's Department Store. Mrs. Lee loved her volunteer church work at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching her soap operas, writing letters and visiting shut ins and sending cards, working in her yard with her flowers and shrubs. She also loved Friday's for that was the day that she got her hair done.
