Dorothea “Dotty Lou” Elouise Seiders Koenig, age 77 of Mooresboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
She is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Gene Koenig of the home, five children, Patricia Kiely (Raymond) of Kansas City, Catherine May (Paul) of Mooresboro, NC, Diane Stokes (Warren) of Sanford, FL, Maryanne Rarick (John) of Surprise, NY, and Thomas Hanlon of Sanford, FL, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two nephews, Joseph Seiders and Mark Schlobolm, and two nieces, Barbara Seiders and Susan Gage.
Born June 6, 1943 in New York, Dotty Lou was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy Maisitis Seiders and was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Seiders, a sister, Joan Schlobolm, and two nieces, Carolyn Sheridan and Linda McCumber.
Dotty Lou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Sharon United Methodist Church. She loved cooking and had recently published a cookbook of her own. Gene and Dotty Lou traveled around the United States together for many years in support of Gene’s work in construction and finally settled down in 2012 in Mooresboro, NC upon retirement. She had a great joy of the serenity of her current home. Dotty Lou especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by those that loved her.
