Mrs. Edna Lovelace Cooper, age 100 of Cary, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
She is survived by her son, Nelson Cooper (Sharon) of Apex, NC, two grandchildren, Jason Cooper of Cary, NC, and Justin Cooper (Alyssa) of Raleigh, NC, two great granddaughters, Pippa and June, and a brother, George Lovelace Jr. of Pineville, NC.
Born January 19, 1923 in Cleveland County, NC, Edna was the daughter of the late George Nathan Lovelace and Sarah Patterson Lovelace and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Evans Cooper, a daughter, Donnie Vee Cooper Greene, brothers, Zeno, Odell, and Fitzhugh Lovelace, and sisters, Dessie Harmon, Pauline Bridges, and Reba Fite.
Edna lived all her life in Cleveland County, born in the Patterson Grove community. She moved with her family to Lattimore when she was in grammar school, only moving to Cary to be closer to her son. She was a lifelong member of Lattimore Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff of Spring Arbor of Cary, Amedisys Hospice, and Grace Care Solutions for the loving care and service they gave Edna during her stay.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, July 17, 2023 at Lattimore Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Buddy Morehead. A visitation will be held from 1:00pm - 2:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Lattimore Baptist Church, P.O. Box 188, Lattimore, NC 28089.
