Ellen Rollins Horton

Mrs. Ellen Lee Rollins Horton, age 79 of Shelby, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at her residence.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Lemons and wife Marilyn of Boiling Springs, NC, Pam Lail of Shelby, NC, Susan Wood and husband Ronnie of Ellenboro, NC, special sons, Scott Lail and Bruce Camp, grandchildren Jessica Lail and husband Corey, Ashley Parker, John Lemons, Mandy Boonie and husband Ben, Nicki Wood, Reggie Wood, great grandchildren Eli Lail Vaughn, Austyn Doster, Bently Lemons, Alexis Lemons, Kaitlyn Parker, and Abbigail Parker. She is also survived by four sisters, Jane Dawson of Columbia, SC, Rita Fish, Brenda Hodges, Linda Biggers and husband Nelson of Shelby, NC, and her beloved dogs Peanut and Lily.
Born September 13, 1939 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Horton was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Lee) Rollins and was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Raymond Romey Horton, a sister Cathy Williamson and a brother Jimmy Rollins.
Ellen was dedicated to Sandy Run Baptist Church and a devout Christian. She enjoyed reading the bible. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. People who knew Mrs. Horton called her affectionately Maw Maw Ellen.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Sandy Run Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Andrew Rawls. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will also receive friends at other times at the home of Ellen Horton.
