Mr. Farris, 77, of 3529 Artee Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Mr. McSwain was a beloved husband, father & grandfather. He was born in Shelby on Jauary 1, 1931 to Scheiman $ Docia McSwain. He attended Lattimore School and worked for 30 years at Ora Mill Company as a loom fixer. Farris loved to garden, but most important, loved his family dearly. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Army in Korea. In addition to his parents Mr. McSwain was preceeded in death by his wife Clara MaSwain, a brother Howard McSwain and a brother-in-law Thomas Sisk.
Mr.s McSwain is survived by a daughter and her husband Teresd & Roland Webber of Shelby, a granddaughter Devan Porter of Ellenboro, a step-grandson Chad Webber and wife Tracy of Shelby, step-great-grandchildren Chasidy Webber 7 Jonathan Webber of Shelby, a brother Hazel McSwain and wife Ruth of Shelby, sisters Marcelle Hamrick and husband Richard, Janice Cabiness and husband George of Shelby, Shirley Funderburke and husband Woody of Hickory; sisters-in laws Doris McCoy and husband Pritchard & Lena MaSwain of Shelby, Geraldine Morrison and husband Hicks of Mooresboro and Melba Sisk of Bostic. Mr. McSwain is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
