Floyd Lemons

March 21, 1932 — October 15, 2011

Mr. Floyd Lemons, loving husband and father went to be with Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was a native of Cleveland County. Mr. Lemons was employed by the Dover Textile Group for 50 years. He was a long time member of Dover Baptist church, former Sunday School teacher and maintenance worker at Dover Church. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 4 years and 4 years in the reserves. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Elzie Lemons & Sudie Bailey Lemons and sisters, Lucille Lemons & Elizabeth Carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie Sisk Lemons of the home; daughters, Debbie Gibson & husband Steve of Mauldin, SC, Terrie Gibson & husband David of Shelby; brothers, Larry Lemons & Harold Lemons of Shelby; sisters, Joyce Gardner of Shelby and Brenda Wheat of Shelby; grandchildren, Matthew Gibson & wife Leah of Shelby, Adam Gibson & fiance Heather Driessner of Pinehurst, NC, Rebecca Diane Gibson McNair & husband Ian of Craddickville, VA and Randy Gibson of Mauldin, SC; great grandchildren, Kessa Gibson, Noah Gibson, Olivia Gibson & Logan Hulan Gibson. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. They were a very close family of in-laws who have stood by the family through Mr. Lemons illness.
