Frances Covington

SHELBY - Frances Mott Covington, age 86, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at her residence. She was born on August 9, 1931 in Cherokee County, South Carolina to the late Horace and Carrie Mott. She was a member of Lafayette Street United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her grandson, Richard Pettit of Gray, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Elliott Covington; and one son, Ricky Mott Pettit.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Don Mason officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Oakland Cemetery in Gaffney, South Carolina. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
