Mr. Franklin "Mickey" Chapman Sr., age 78 of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith Chapman of the home, two children, Franklin Chapman Jr. and Scarlette Marie Chapman, both of Shelby, NC, eight grandchildren, Sabrina Kuhlman, Tyler Chapman, Audrey Lewis, JoAnn Tucker, Michelle Plyler, Misty Davis, John Davis III, and Melissa Hinton, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born February 4, 1940 in Gaston County, Frank was the son of the late Bryan and Viola Bradshaw Chapman and was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Chapman and two sisters, Helen Hall and Joyce Edison.
Frank was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Ellenboro. He enjoyed watching his Carolina Panthers, North Carolina Tar Heels Basketball, and the Atlanta Braves. He was the kind of person that would help anyone that was in need. He loved and spending time with his family and friends. Frank would always bring a smile to your face and will be missed dearly by those that knew him.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City..
