Mr. Fred Taylor Cranor, age 74 of Shelby, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Peak Resources in Shelby, NC. A graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Cleveland Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Eddie Gray.
Surviving besides his wife Priscilla Ann (Wilkinson) Cranor of the home are two children, Tracey Gardner of Wilkesboro, NC, and Mark Cranor of Atlanta, GA, two brothers, Bobby Cranor of Lake Norman, NC, and Hugh Cranor and wife Sylvia of Wilkesboro, NC, a sister, Betty Horne and husband Pat of West Jefferson, NC, five grandchildren, Meggan Cranor and fiancée Josh Price of Mooresboro, NC, Tracy Creasman and husband Paul of Boiling Springs, NC, Chad McSwain and wife Ashley of Shelby, NC, Nikki Gardner of Newbern, NC and Justin Gardner and wife Erica of Grover, NC, seven great grandchildren, Destiny, Ryan, Millie, Evan, Jaxon, Anna, and Chloe and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born June 27, 1939 Wilkes County, NC, Mr. Cranor was the son of the late Jim and Lula Mae (Cochran) Cranor and was preceded in death by a son, Michael Todd Cranor and a brother, Thomas "Jeep" Cranor. Mr. Cranor was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Shelby. Serving in the United State Army, Fred was attached to the 101st Airborne Division as an Infantryman. Mr. Cranor was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His family was his life and he cherished spending time with them.
