G. Crosby

Mr. Crosby, better know as "Geke", passed away at his home, Thursday, November 10, 2011. A native of Cleveland County, he was a former brick mason and retired from Fiber Industries. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Crosby was preceded in death by his parents William W. Crosby & Dorcas Paxton Crosby, brothers; Evans, Clyde, Clarence, & J. B. Crosby and sisters Annie Humphries, Lella Jones, and Beatrice Beattie. Mr. Crosby is survived by his wife of 54 years Martha Bowen Crosby, a son Chris Crosby and wife Carol of Shelby, NC, a daughter Robin Seagroves and husband Mark of Talbott, Tenn., brother William Crosby of Shelby, a sister Pat Hamrick of Boiling Springs, NC, and grandchildren Ami Denton and husband Aaron of Pinehurst, NC, John Crosby and Stephanie Seagroves of Shelby, Timothy Seagroves of Talbott, Tenn., Sarah Seagroves of Little Rock, Ark., and a great granddaughter Savannah Denton of Pinehurst, NC. In addition to these Mr. Crosby is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Black, pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, and assisted by Dr. Paul Sorrells, Rev. Mel Campos, and Rev. Bobby Seagroves. Memorials may be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 123 Beaver Dam Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152 or Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
