Mr. Washburn retired after 27 years as power operator at Dupont, Savannah River Site; entrepreneur and former owner of several businessis including: Radio Shack franchise, Gabriel, Inc. and the Warehouse. He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church, former member of Millbrook Baptist church, Aiken, SC, Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary Club, Treasure of Republican Party in Cleveland County, member of Cleveland County Herb Club. He also served as voluntary missionary in the United States, Zambia, Poland, South Africa, Israel and Panama.
Mr. Washburn's parents were late Joe C. Washburn & Estilla McSwain Washburn. He was also preceeded in death by his wife Lela Bell Washburn and 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mr. Washburn is survived by three daughters and their husbands; Yvonne & Rex Nordeen of New Ellenton, SC, Gloria & John Piquette of North Augusta, SC, Annette & Stephen Burnette of Barnwell, SC, a son and his wife Gabriel & Cindy Washburn of Six Mile, SC. Mr. Washburn's GRANDDAUGHTERS are; Stacy Reinhardt, Mrs. Brian Anne Meyers, Hannah Washburn, Delanie Washburn and Mrs. Charlie Adrian Swain, GRANDSONS are; Christopher & Alicia Nordeen, Keith Nordeen, Kelly Nordeed, Michael Piquette, Aaron Washburn & David Burnette, GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTERS are; Salina Reinhardt, Jozlyn Nordeed Bennett, Claire Piquette, Sophie Piquette & Rowan Meyers, and a GREAT-GRANDSON Galen Nordeen, a sisterRaye Scism of Shelby, a brother Dan Washburn of Raleigh, NC and Dr. Gene Washburn of Boiling Springs, NC along with many extended family members and friends.
