Gene Warren

Gene Arthur Warren, 78, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Humphries Warren of the home, children, Randall Warren (Denita), Johnny Warren, and James Warren (Maria), all of Shelby, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother, Jack Warren, sisters, Vivian Ward (Terry) and Evelyn Swank.
Born April 16, 1938 in Cleveland County, Mr. Warren was the son of the late Arthur and Mae Warren and was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Bill Warren and a sister, Patricia Hamrick.
Mr. Warren enjoyed spending time at the flea market, the Hamfests, and watching Nascar racing. He also enjoyed bluegrass gospel music.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Randy Bumgardner. A visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
