Hazel Gantt

June 3, 1918 — March 5, 2011

Mrs. Gantt, 92, of White Oak Manor in Shelby, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. A native of Mecklenburg County NC, she worked in textiles, as a nurses aide and most of all she enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active member of Dover Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Gantt was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Walter Quick & Sally Haddox Quick, her husband Alvin Vetus Gantt, a daughter Dorothy Ann Gantt Haffner, a granddaughter Robin Leigh Borsche, brothers Vernon, Buck, Bill, Clyde, Thomas & Dub Quick, and sisters Topsy Reynolds & Inez Hartline. Mrs. Gantt is survived by three sons and their wives Rev. Jack Gantt & Shirley of Carrollton, GA, and Johnny Gantt & Faye of Boiling Springs, NC, Randy Gantt & Linda of Shelby and a daughter Sally Roberts of Asheville. In addition to these Mrs. Gantt is also survived by grandchildren; Deborah, Leslie, Karen, DiAnn, Avery, Wayne Borsche, Jr., Adrienne, Stephanie, Todd, Scott & Michael, great grandchildrn Amber, Gretchen, Monica, Tiffany, Jeremy, Matthew, Caleb, Kaci, Corey, Sidney, Grayson, Cody, Brian, Chelsey, & Andrew, and great great grandchildren Kylie, Arielle, Christian & Addison. Mrs. Gantt is also survived by sister's Agnes Milkin, Florence Tracy Sarah Horton & Amy Sue Rust, and a son-in-law Bob Heffner. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. B. Ervin Price, Rev. Jack Gantt, and Rev. Michael Gantt. Memorials may be made to Dover Baptist Church, 1501 Polkville Road, Shelby, NC 28150.
