Hazel Frances Barnett Wilson, age 90 of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her children, Kay Lovelace and husband Paul of Shelby, NC and Warren Gene Wilson of Shelby, NC, a granddaughter, Mandy Gallo and husband Richard of Belmont, NC, two step-grandchildren, Woody Lovelace and wife Kathleen of Columbia, SC, and Randy Lovelace and wife Debbie of Bonaire, GA, two great grandchildren, Sebastian and Cecilia Gallo, five step-great grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca, Allison, Makenzie, and Baileigh Lovelace
Born March 19, 1925 in Cleveland County, Hazel was the daughter of the late William Monroe Barnett and Mary Shuford Barnett and was preceded in death by a brother, Esley Barnett and two sisters, Corene Condrey and Mabel Tessneer.
Hazel was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She worked and retired from Kemet Corporation. Hazel enjoyed cooking, Wednesday night meals for the church and her family. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by those that knew her.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
