Herschel Wilson

Mr. Wilson, 87, of 2445 Washburn Road, Shelby, NC passed away Monday, 12-29-2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was a dairy and cotton farmer and retired from Dover Mill Company after 29 years of service. He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church and an avid sports fan. He served in the U. S. Navy during W W II in the South Pacific and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Wilson was preceeded in death by his parents Thomas & Emma Wells Wilson, his wife Mary Washburn Wilson and brothers & sisters Omelia Hamrick, Hudson Wilson, Lois Hite & Louise Gold.
Mr. Wilson is survived by two daughters and their husbands; Tillie & Shannon Duncan of Charlotte, NC, Ann & Pete McSwain of Shelby, a son and his wife Ron & Linda Wilson of Shelby. In addition to these his grandchildren and spouses are Eric & Pamela Duncan, Nathan & Carla Duncan, Luke Duncan, Britt & Stephanie McSwain, Bryan & Vickie Wilson, and Matthew Wilson, great grandchildren are Timothy Duncan, Cara Weekly, Becca Weekly, Clay Duncan, Karleigh McSwain, Emma McSwain and Elizabeth Wilson. Mr. Wilson is survived by one brother Ben Wilson of Lattimore, NC.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Todd Bolin pastor of Double Springs Baptist Church.
