Howard Bowen

Mr. Bowen, 84, of 3726 Robert Riding Rd., Shelby, NC passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, NC he was retired from J. P. Stevens Co. Mr. Bowen was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, and served in the U. S. Army in Germany during WWII. Mr. Bowen was predeeded in death by his parents Garland Victor Bowen & Nellie Catherine Poole Bowen and his wife Pauline Ellis Bowen. Mr. Bowen is survived by one son John Howard Bowen & wife Brenda, a daughter Cathy Bowen Mull & husband Steve, brothers Garland Bowen Jr. & wife Betty, Dwight Bowen & wife Hester, Dean Bowen, Bobby Bowen & wife Shirley, a sister Martha Crosby & husband G. C. all of Shelby, NC. Mr. Bowen has two granddaughters Kesha Porter & husband Dale, and Dawn Bowen, two grandsonsGregory Mull and Victor Bowen. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Black and Rev. Phil Hughes of Beaver Dam Baptist church, and Rev. Mel Campos of Crestview Baptist Church.
