Hubert Greene

November 26, 1930 — February 19, 2012

Mr. Hubert Greene was born in Cleveland County to the late Frank Avery Greene & Lala Beatrice McKee Greene. He retired from Standard Trucking Company and worked for Putnam Distributors. He was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church where he was very active and sang in the choir. An avid golfer, he loved to play, especially with the senior group. Mr. Greene loved bluegrass music. He was a proficient fiddle player and loved to play with the Leonard McSwain band. He served in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Greene & Woody Greene and a sister, Helen G. George. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Martha Vinesett Greene of the home; a son, Mike Greene & wife Debbie of Grover; a daughter, Carol Hoyle & husband Sonny of Lawndale; a brother, Frank O. Greene of Shelby; grandchildren, Brad Hoyle & wife Angie, Jason Crotts & wife Mary, Josh Crotts & wife Myia and Jeremy Wiggins; great-grandchildren Tucker, Cade, Hagan, Hoyle & Gabriel Wiggins and Caleb Crotts.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial s may be made to Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, 1642 Sulphur Springs Ch. Rd., Shelby, NC 28152.
