Hubert Henry Padgett, age 89 of Shelby, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 26, 2022.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Frances Cartee Padgett of the home, two sons, Scott Padgett of Shelby, NC, and Tim Padgett (Denise) of Lawndale, NC, three grandchildren, Christopher Padgett (Nathan) of Greenville, SC, Heather Padgett (Tyler Poston) of Lawndale, NC, and Zachary Padgett (Amy) of Lincolnton, NC, five great grandchildren, Cheyenne Padgett, Christopher Kale Padgett, Rylan Poston, Scarlett Poston, and Sawyer Padgett, a brother, Norman Padgett of Ellenboro, NC, two sisters, Eloise Powell of Ellenboro, NC, and Dianne Hewitt of Forest City, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born August 26, 1933, in Rutherford County, NC, Hubert was the son of the late Walter Padgett and Cordie Goforth Padgett and was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Padgett and a sister, Beatrice Lavender.
Hubert was a faithful member of Landmark Baptist Church. He worked and retired from Ester Mills in Shelby. Hubert enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren which he dearly loved.
A funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2022 at Landmark Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Alan Davis.
Receiving of Friends will be one hour prior beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Landmark Baptist Church building fund, 1724 E Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152.
