Mr. Jack Borders Hendrick, age 82 of Shelby, NC, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Matheny Hendrick of the home, a son, Richard Francis and wife Robin of Ellenboro, NC, a granddaughter, Elaina Nicole Francis, two brothers, Joseph Hendrick and wife Mary Anne of Boiling Springs, NC, and Edward Hendrick of Rutherfordton, NC.
Born November 6, 1933 in Cleveland County, Mr. Hendrick was the son of the late Andrew Ford Hendrick Sr. and Beuna (Borders) Hendrick and was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew Ford Hendrick Jr. and William Hendrick.
Mr. Hendrick retired from NC Vocational Rehab where he was a Unit Manager. He later became an owner/operator of B&J Emergency Lockout Service with his wife. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 202 in Shelby and a member of Peidmont Shrine Club with the Peidmont Pistons. Jack was a faithful member of the Coed Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Shelby. He enjoyed the time at the Pancake House with his buddies daily and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Perry Holleman. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children- Greenville, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
