Mr. Hamrick, 85, of Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Hospice of Kings Mountain. A native of Ellenboro, NC, he began his career as an electrician. He became an inventor and founder of Jet Line Products in Matthews, NC. As an inventor, he has 33 patents. He came to Shelby and developed three home developments, Woodbridge, Landsdowne and Harbor Pointe on Moss Lake and also built Woodbridge Golf Course which he sold in 1986. He was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church, the Electrical Workers Union and the D.A.V. He served as a gunners mate in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He also had three brothers who served in the military at the same time. Two of those brothers were killed in the line of duty. Mr. Hamrick was preceded in death by his parents Wiley & Susan Etta Whitesides Lineberger Hamrick, four brothers Ralph Lineberger, Abel Lineberger, Charles Lineberger and Bill Lineberger, and two half sisters Lucille Frazier and Ruth Callahan. Mr. Hamrick is survived by his wife Virginia Hamrick of the home, one son Ralph Hamrick of Kure Beach, NC, two daughters Norma Hamrick of Gastonia, and Susan Hamrick and special friend, Tom Homesley of Mint Hill, NC, a step-son Harvey Whisnant & wife Lynda of Shelby, a step-daughter Kathy Campfield and husband Dennis of Shelby, two sisters Frances Queen of Matthews, NC and Mary Smith of Shelby. In addition to these Mr. Hamrick has grandchildren; Jeff Bostic, Kim Poole, April Tucker, Gabe Whisnant, Tiffany Odom, Kyle Wright & Kristi Spicer along with eleven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Joe Tarpley pastor of Sharon United Methodist Church.
