James Hall Greene

Mr. James "Jimmy" Hall Greene, 74, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his fiancé, Wanda Parker of the home, a brother, Lowell Greene and wife Martha of Shelby, NC, a nephew, Chris Greene and wife Denita of Shelby, NC, a niece, Rhonda Poston and husband Phillip of Shelby, NC, and a step-daughter, Michelle Bailey and husband Dennis of Chesnee, SC.
Born March 26, 1942 in Union County, NC, Mr. Greene was the son of the late Hall Greene and Elizabeth Jolly Greene and was preceded in death by his step-father, Baxter Greene.
Mr. Greene was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a gunner on a 105 MM Artillery Unit. He worked and retired as a supervisor from Specialty Lighting in Shelby. Jimmy was an easy going person that anyone could approach. He enjoyed music, trains, airplanes, and watching sports. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by those that knew him.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Westwood Heights Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Costner. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
