A native of Rutherford County, in the past he had worked for Home Beneficial Insurance Company. He was owner & operator of Sea Sand 1 & 2 and Sea Air motels in North Myrtle Beach for over 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist church of North Myrtle Beach, a graduate of Ellenboro High School and attended Howard Business College and Gardner-Webb College.
He was son of the late Rev. T. W. Lovelace & Maggie Shehan Lovelace, deceased son, Jimmy Lovelace, deceased brother, Johnny Lovelace, deceased sons-in-law, Gary Turner, Joe McLamb & Bryon Rippy. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charline Thrift Lovelace, daughters, Gwen L. Turner & Sue L. McLamb Rippy, brothers, Isaac Lovelace & wife, Mary, Paul Lovelace & wife, Kay; sister, Dorothy Vassey & husband, Thurman; grandchildren Karin Cook & husband, Clint, Mark Turner & wife, Miranda, Allison Bower, Garrett McLamb, Sgt. Phillip McLamb & Michael McLamb; great grandchildren, Madison Bower, Carleigh Turner, Ford Turner, Turner Cook & August Cook; sister-in-law, Bertie Lovelace Martin and a number of nieces and nephews.
