James Hamrick

Mr. Hamrick, 88, of 431 Old Boiling Springs Road, Shelby, NC, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Otho Hamrick & Nicey Louella Ledbetter Hamrick. He was also preceeded in death by his wife Emma Hamrick Hamrick, two brothers, three sisters & a son-in-law Steve Eskridge. Mr. Hamrick retired from Dover Mill Company where he was a weaver for 44 years and also worked at Harris Teeter for 10 years. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where he coached the R. A. ball team for many years. He was a very avid Crest Football fan and served in the U. S. Army during WWII. Mr. Hamrick is survived by two sons Steve Hamrick & wife Sandra, and Marvin Hamrick & wife Theresa, a daughter Elnora Eskridge all of Shelby, NC. Mr. Hamrick is also survived by grandchildren; Jeff Eskridge & wife Rebecca, Kim Litton & husband Pat, Penny Melton & husband Robert, Craig Hamrick, Matthew Hamrick, Joseph Hamrick, Kristina Cooper, Kyle Hamrick, Amie Cooper & Timothy Cooper. In addition to these he is also survived by 7 great gradchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Clyde Buckner, DR.
