JANIS REBECCA CARPENTER

Janis Rebecca Carpenter of Shelby passed away on April 3, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby, NC. She was born in Cleveland County to the late William Charles and Lola Bell Tessner Swink.

In addition to her parents, Janis was preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth Swink, Benny Swink; sisters Dorothy McNeely, Marthelle Phillbeck, Betty Bowen and Louise Bridges.

Janis is survived by her daughter, Michelle Tompkins and her husband Mark of Gastonia, son Darrell Carpenter Jr. and his wife Charlene of Blacksburg, Sc., brothers Edward Swink, Shorty Swink and Hugh Lee Swink; sisters Joyce Dedmon and Helen Owensby; grandchildren Jordan Tyler Meek, Payton Elizabeth Tompkins and Tylon Chace Carpenter.

Her Memorial service will be Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Services chapel, Shelby, NC. with Pastor Tony Hopper officiating.
