Joe Price

Mr. Joe Price, 78, of Shelby, passed away at his home on Oct. 11, 2012. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Forrest Price and Opal Wright Price.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia and Rita; and a brother, Jack.

Mr. Price worked as sergeant of the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and as safety director for Ryder Truck Rental. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1964 and served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956 and in the reserves until 1961. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren and working on antique cars and tractors.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sparks Price, of the home; two daughters, Robin White and husband Marty, and Stephanie Conley and husband Alfred; grandchildren, James Alexander White, Ethan Joseph White, Victoria Nicole Conley and Sarah Catherine Conley.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Cleveland Funeral Services.

Funeral Service: A private family service will be held.
