Josephine Whitaker

Mrs. Whitaker, 87, of 934 West Warren Street, Shelby, NC, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Caroleen, NC she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee McAbee & Virgie Elzie Pettit McAbee. Mrs. Whitaker retired from Mastercraft where she worked for 20 years.In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by her husband William Worth Whitaker, and a son Cecil Boyd Whitaker, and three brothers William, Hubert & Troy McAbee.Mrs. Whitaker is survived by a son Joe Whitaker of Rutherfordton, NC, four daughters Phyllis Robinson of Alexander Mills, NC, Sherry Farrow Stinchcomb of Fallston, NC, Vicky Melton of Dana, NC, and Tina Cooper of Alexander Mills, NC. In addition to these she also has 15 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Don Harris.
